The White Lotus team and Max expressed solidarity in a statement released on Instagram Friday, March 28th. “The White Lotus team and all of us at Max are holding the people of Myanmar and Thailand close to our hearts today,” the message conveyed. “We extend our deepest condolences to everyone affected by this tragedy.”

As Myanmar is part of the British Commonwealth, King Charles III also issued a statement regarding the disaster.
“To the people of Myanmar, my wife [Queen Camilla] and I were deeply saddened to hear about the devastating earthquake and the tragic loss of life and extensive damage,” King Charles wrote in a statement released on social media Saturday, March 29th. He highlighted the destruction of “sacred pagodas, monasteries and other places of worship.”
He further expressed, “I know that the people of Myanmar continue to endure hardship, and I have long admired your resilience. At this heartbreaking time, my wife and I extend our deepest sympathy to all those who have suffered the profound tragedy of losing loved ones, homes, and livelihoods.”
Filming Locations of ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3
While The White Lotus only filmed portions of season 3 in Thailand, not Myanmar, the production did spotlight aspects of the region’s culture. Filming predominantly took place in Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok.
Referring to his filming experience, Schwarzenegger mentioned to the Bangkok Post earlier in March, “Phuket was probably my favorite location. We filmed on a yacht, visited Phi Phi Islands, and experienced Thailand’s beautiful ocean and island landscapes. While the hotels were beautiful, I preferred exploring and immersing myself in the quintessential Thai scenery.”
