Reports confirm that rapper Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, have been convicted of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud following a federal trial in Broward County, Florida.
Kingston, born in Miami and raised in Jamaica, first achieved global recognition with his 2007 hit track “Beautiful Girls.” His success continued into the subsequent decade, marked by a prominent collaboration with Justin Bieber and a guest appearance on Disney Channel’s popular show Suite Life on Deck alongside Dylan and Cole Sprouse.
Following the reading of the guilty verdict on March 28, Turner was immediately remanded into custody, while Kingston received an order for house arrest with electronic monitoring. The mother and son shared a poignant embrace as Turner was escorted into federal custody. Sentencing for both Kingston and Turner is scheduled for July 11.

Kingston was apprehended in Fort Irwin, California, in May 2024, subsequent to a warrant issued by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. A SWAT team executed a search warrant at his residence in Southwest Ranches, a Broward County community. He was convicted on all five charges presented.
The pair defrauded multiple businesses, including jewelers, a television retail company, and a luxury car dealership. Prosecutors stated the total value of the fraudulently obtained items surpassed $1 million.
