Everything Announced At The Dreamhaven Showcase

Importance Score: 45 / 100 🔵

Dreamhaven, the game publisher established in 2020 by Blizzard co-founder Mike Morhaime, recently presented its inaugural showcase, revealing updates for several projects from its studios. Formed by former Blizzard Entertainment figures to “develop and release original games for players worldwide,” the company houses two in-house studios: Secret Door and Moonshot Games, comprised of seasoned professionals from across the gaming industry. The digital event served as a significant unveiling of Dreamhaven’s upcoming lineup, and for those who missed the live stream, here’s a concise recap of the key announcements.

Wildgate Revealed by Moonshot Games

Moonshot Games introduced Wildgate, their newly announced debut title set in space. This crew-based first-person shooter (FPS) casts players as Prospectors, who must collaborate as a ship’s crew to navigate a mysterious expanse of space and procure a potent artifact known as, simply, the Artifact.

Crews pilot diverse ships, varying in form and scale, customizable with armaments and gadgets. Each crew member possesses distinct skills and tools; teamwork is vital for efficient ship operation. Roles involve piloting, resource and loot retrieval, and engaging in interstellar combat against hostile aliens and rival treasure seekers. Crews securing the Artifact must race to an exit portal for a successful escape. Alternatively, crews can choose to eliminate all enemy vessels to achieve victory.

Wildgate is slated to launch this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. Prospective players can register for a community playtest event scheduled for April 10-14.

Sunderfolk Release Date Announced

Sunderfolk, initially revealed last October, aims to simplify the tabletop role-playing game (RPG) experience. Up to four participants embody hero roles to safeguard a peaceful animal village from encroaching corruption, utilizing their smartphones or tablets as controllers. This design broadens accessibility, and the absence of physical components – rulebooks and resources are digitally accessible via the Sunderfolk mobile application – intends to expedite and ease game initiation. Notably, only the host needs to purchase the game; other players can join at no cost.

Featuring six character classes—Arcanist, Bard, Berserker, Pyromancer, Ranger, and Rogue—players equip themselves with gear, abilities, and items to confront adversaries in turn-based tactical engagements. Players execute commands with a customizable card deck; combat emphasizes strategic coordination and teamwork. Between battles, players enhance the village of Arden, introducing new merchants and fostering relationships with its inhabitants.

Interested individuals can sample Sunderfolk through a complimentary demo, accessible via NVIDIA GeForce Now registration. Sunderfolk will be released on April 23, priced at $49.99, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

Lynked: Banner of the Spark 1.0 Launch in May

Lynked: Banner of the Spark, which debuted in Steam Early Access last October, is being finalized by developer FuzzyBot for its full version launch in the coming months.

This action role-playing game (RPG) allows for solo or cooperative play, blending roguelite progression elements with cozy city-building mechanics. Players engage in hack-and-slash combat against robotic enemy waves, gather their components, and utilize these materials to expand a central hub. Outside of combat, players can partake in relaxed hub activities such as fishing, crop cultivation, animal collection, and home decoration crafting.

Version 1.0 will incorporate five additional chapters, expanding the main story campaign to a total of 40 missions. The VoidSpyre, a new environment, will be introduced alongside five novel bosses. New weapon modifications and character skins will also become craftable.

Lynked: Banner of the Spark is set to launch on May 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Mechabellum Publishing Partnership

In addition, Dreamhaven publicized a publishing alliance for Mechabellum, a tactics game centered around mechs, initially launched last September. A premium iteration of the game debuts today, including over 18 exclusive cosmetic items: skins, avatars, and emotes. This premium edition is priced at $29.99, compared to the standard edition’s $14.99.
