Lucid Motors Gears Up to Restart Customer Deliveries of Gravity SUV
Luxury electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid Motors is set to recommence customer deliveries of its highly anticipated all-electric Gravity SUV by the end of April. This move marks a critical juncture for Lucid, as the company’s future success is largely dependent on its ability to offer in-demand vehicle styles like SUVs to appeal to a broader range of U.S. consumers.
Gravity SUV: Lucid’s Foray into the SUV Market
The Gravity SUV represents Lucid’s second model and its inaugural entry into the popular sport utility vehicle segment, following the Lucid Air sedan series. Lucid initiated order-taking for the seven-seater SUV in November 2024 and commenced initial deliveries to employees, associates, and family members in December.
Delivery Recommencement Confirmed
Speaking at a brand activation event in New York City on Thursday evening, Lucid’s interim CEO, Marc Winterhoff, stated, “We have almost completed the production run of vehicles intended for our showrooms and for test drives. We are on track to restart customer deliveries of the Gravity SUV by the close of April.” This announcement signals the end of the initial phase focused on pre-production and internal distribution, paving the way for broader market availability.
Production Ramp-Up at Arizona Factory
Lucid personnel at the New York event confirmed to news outlets that the electric vehicle producer is actively increasing Gravity production at its manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, Arizona. The U.S.-based factory is expected to provide a significant advantage for the EV startup, particularly in light of recent import tariff increases.
Gravity SUV: Performance and Range
The Gravity SUV, priced starting at $94,900, boasts an impressive EPA-estimated range of 450 miles and delivers sports car-caliber performance. This is attributed to Lucid’s advanced battery technology, which enables a high-density, lightweight battery pack capable of delivering substantial power.

Reinforcing the vehicle’s appeal, Winterhoff added, “With the Lucid Gravity, there is no need to compromise. It truly offers a complete package.” This statement emphasizes the vehicle’s blend of luxury, performance, and practicality within the electric SUV market.
