Brooke Hogan Responds to Mother Linda’s Claims Amidst Family Feud
The family drama surrounding wrestling legend Hulk Hogan continues as his daughter, Brooke Hogan, publicly responded to her mother, Linda Hogan’s, accusations. Linda Hogan, Hulk Hogan‘s ex-wife, recently posted a tearful video online blaming the former WWE star for their strained family relationships. Brooke Hogan has now countered these claims, asserting that her father is not solely responsible for the family’s current fractured state.
Linda Hogan’s Emotional Outburst and Accusations
Earlier this week, Linda Hogan shared a distressing online video where she appeared visibly distraught, accusing her former husband of deceit and infidelity. In the video, Linda alleged the wrestling icon’s actions left their family “in the worst mess,” particularly after Brooke Hogan ceased contact with both parents. She specifically pointed to Hulk Hogan as the root cause of their familial issues, expressing her deep sadness and frustration.
Brooke Hogan Defends Her Position, Cites Separate Reasons for Parental Estrangement
In a robust response shared via Instagram, Brooke Hogan addressed her decision to distance herself from both parents. She clarified that her reasons for cutting ties with her mother are independent of her relationship with her father, and vice versa.
“I have completely separate reasons for going no contact with each of my parents,” Brooke Hogan stated. “No contact with my Mom has nothing to do with my Dad, and no contact with my Father has nothing to do with my Mother.”
She further extended this separation to her father’s subsequent marriages, emphasizing that her decision was based on personal experiences with each individual throughout her life, independent of marital status. “This also pertains to my dad’s second and third, now current wife. This decision was made based purely on how they have each dealt with me directly my entire life.”
Brooke Hogan Alleges Childhood Abuse
Brooke Hogan made serious allegations of mistreatment during her upbringing, stating she endured “EXTREMELY verbally and mentally abused since childhood.” She further claimed that this abuse sometimes escalated to physical altercations, adding complexity to the family’s troubled dynamic by suggesting abuse came from unexpected sources.
“Sadly, it would frequently turn physical,” she wrote. “And sometimes it’s not by the person you would assume, abuse comes in all shapes and sizes.”
Efforts to Reconcile and Setting Boundaries
Brooke Hogan continued her poignant statement by revealing her past attempts to mend relationships with her parents. Despite her efforts to find common ground and rebuild, she ultimately felt repeatedly disrespected, leading to her decision to move forward without them.
“I so badly wanted to see good in them, protect, help, and start anew – just to be disrespected again and again,” she explained. “I longed for a normal family, but it never came to fruition.”
She described feeling pulled into negativity despite her outreach and boundary setting attempts. “I’ve repeatedly held my hand out to help them, only to have them pull me into the darkness with them. I’ve set boundaries that were not respected, and at this point, I can truly do no more.”
Family History: Marriage, Divorce, and Current Relationships
Hulk Hogan, whose legal name is Terry Bollea, and Linda were married for 26 years, from 1983 to 2009, and have two children: Brooke, 36, and Nick, 34.
Since their divorce, Hulk Hogan has remarried twice. He married Jennifer McDaniel in 2010, divorcing in 2021, and then married Sky Daily in 2023 in a ceremony reportedly not attended by Brooke. Linda Hogan has not remarried following her divorce from Hulk Hogan.
Linda’s tearful video statement followed news of Brooke Hogan welcoming twins with her husband Steven Olesky in January, highlighting the estrangement as Linda expressed sadness at missing significant family milestones.
“It’s been 15 however long years since I left Hulk Hogan and my family is the worst mess,” Linda lamented in her video. “Brooke doesn’t talk to us. She had twins, she got married [and] she didn’t tell us. She had a huge fight with Terry. … But she cut me out too. I haven’t talked to her for seven years – almost eight years now.”
Hulk Hogan’s Past Controversies Resurface
The wrestling icon, Hulk Hogan, gained immense popularity in the 1980s. However, recent events have brought past controversies back into the spotlight. During WWE’s launch on Netflix in January, Hulk Hogan faced audience disapproval after a video from 2015 resurfaced featuring him using racist language, including the n-word, and making inappropriate comments about Brooke Hogan‘s personal life.
Details of the Racist Remarks
Reports indicate the audio captured Hulk Hogan making racist remarks during a conversation with Heather Clem, then-wife of a friend, while discussing Brooke Hogan‘s aspirations in the music industry. He reportedly mentioned a “black billionaire guy” offering financial support for her career, and then made offensive speculations about her relationships.
According to transcripts, Hulk Hogan stated, “I don’t know if Brooke was f***ing the black guy’s son… I mean, I don’t have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f***ing n******. But then when it comes to nice people and s***, and whatever.”
He continued with further offensive statements and racial slurs, expressing a preference for his daughter to marry a wealthy black athlete rather than be involved with someone he deemed less successful.
Following the renewed attention to these remarks and the negative audience reception, Hulk Hogan reportedly withdrew from a subsequent WWE event.
