Chris Hemsworth Recounts “Cringe-Worthy” Oscars Encounter with Billie Eilish
Hollywood luminary Chris Hemsworth has spoken about a perceived social blunder involving pop sensation Billie Eilish at the recent 2024 Oscars ceremony. The Avengers: Endgame star humorously reflected on an awkward interaction with the singer, describing it as a moment he wishes he could erase.
Hemsworth’s Oscar Selfie Regret
During a recent appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Hemsworth detailed the moment he decided to approach Eilish for a photograph. “I got a photograph with Billie Eilish at the Oscars,” the actor recounted on the March 26 broadcast. “I remember thinking, ‘Ah, don’t do it, don’t do it.'”
Parental Motivation Over Personal Hesitation
Despite initial misgivings, the 41-year-old actor, father to daughter India, 12, and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, 11, with wife Elsa Pataky, proceeded with the photograph due to his children’s admiration for Eilish.
“I was like, ‘No, my kids are going to love this,'” he explained. “The moment I took it, I instantly felt like I had transitioned from a respected colleague to merely a fan.”
Friendship Status in Question
The Thor franchise headliner jokingly concluded, “We will never be friends, definitely never be best friends.”
Past Celebrity Photo Incidents
This Oscars incident isn’t the first time Hemsworth has alluded to slightly embarrassing celebrity photo opportunities. He previously admitted to flouting the strict Met Gala protocol the previous year by snapping “loads of selfies.”
