Raducanu Faces Health Issue During Miami Open Defeat

British tennis player Emma Raducanu experienced a health concern during her Miami Open match against Jessica Pegula, ultimately losing 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-2 in the quarter-finals. Raducanu, who had previously defeated four American players including eighth seed Emma Navarro, required on-court medical evaluation and had her vital signs assessed during the second set of the contest.

Match Details and Health Scare

During the intense match against Pegula, Raducanu appeared to struggle, prompting a medical timeout. The British star received attention from the tournament doctor courtside as her condition was evaluated. Despite the setback, Raducanu continued to compete but was ultimately defeated in three sets by her American opponent in the Miami Open quarter-final.

Djokovic Match Postponed Due to Lengthy Raducanu-Pegula Clash

The protracted encounter between Raducanu and Pegula, the fourth match scheduled on the main court in Florida, resulted in the postponement of Novak Djokovic’s scheduled match against Sebastian Korda. Djokovic was slated to play fifth on centre court; however, ATP regulations stipulate that matches cannot commence after 11 PM local time. As a consequence, the 24-time Grand Slam champion’s match will be rescheduled for today.
