Kindle Update: New Features Simplify Navigation and Enhance Reading Experience
Amazon has released a new software update for its popular Kindle e-readers, introducing enhanced features designed to streamline navigation and improve user experience. The latest update introduces intuitive controls, allowing users to turn pages with a simple double tap, alongside a helpful ‘Recaps for Books in Series’ function. This valuable update makes interacting with your Kindle more seamless and enjoyable, especially for avid readers.
Effortless Page Turning with Double Tap Feature
The most notable enhancement in this Kindle update is the introduction of double tap page navigation. Users can now effortlessly advance pages in books or scroll within the Home and Library sections by simply tapping twice on the sides or back of their device. This intuitive gesture replaces the traditional screen tap, offering a more convenient way to immerse yourself in your favorite reads.
“You can now double tap on the sides or back of your device to turn pages in books or scroll down in Home and Library. This feature can be toggled on or off within Settings > Device Options,” Amazon stated in the release notes.
Introducing ‘Recaps for Books in Series’ Feature
In addition to simplified page turning, Version 5.18.1 brings a new feature called “Recaps for Books in Series.” This function provides concise summaries for numerous bestselling English language Kindle books that are part of a series, whether purchased or borrowed.
“You can now access short recaps for thousands of bestselling English language Kindle books in series you have purchased or borrowed,” Amazon confirmed. “Review previous events in a previously read book before commencing a new title within the series.”
