Pete Davidson Sidesteps Dating History Questions on Netflix Show
Comedian Pete Davidson once again found himself fielding questions about his widely discussed dating history and string of high-profile romances. During a recent appearance on Netflix’s Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney, Davidson faced inquiries from fellow comedian Luenell regarding his personal life.
Luenell Queries Davidson’s “Mystique” with A-List Partners
“I mentioned to Pete backstage that I had something to discuss with him,” Luenell explained during the Wednesday, March 26, episode. “We’ve encountered each other about four or five times, and it has always been enjoyable. … You are just a typical guy, an average dude, yet you consistently attract all these successful women, right?”
Luenell, 66, then shared her observations about Davidson’s past partners. “I don’t recall seeing you with women of color. You might have dated them; it’s just not publicized,” she remarked. “Since I don’t understand it, I’m curious about the appeal. You’ve been with Kim Kardashian and numerous others. You currently have a supermodel girlfriend.”
Davidson laughed and momentarily hid his face upon hearing Kardashian’s name but played along with the comedic exchange. Luenell then suggested that Davidson take her on a date “for research purposes.”
“If that’s what it takes to stop this line of questioning, then yes,” he responded awkwardly.
John Mulaney Jests About Davidson’s Dating Life
John Mulaney attempted to redirect the conversation away from Davidson’s dating life, but humorously suggested gifting the pair a Benihana gift card. Luenell clarified that her intention was to playfully express her interest at the start of the show.
“People are curious about the mystique,” Luenell continued. “Are you incredibly fun? Are you a really good companion? … I don’t want to be romantically involved with you, I don’t think,” she added, prompting audience laughter. “But I would like to socialize. Let’s go out. Ask your model girlfriend if you can bring a friend along.”
Davidson’s Honesty Approach to Dating
Davidson is accustomed to addressing inquiries regarding his former girlfriends. Over the years, Davidson has been romantically linked to Kardashian, 44, Ariana Grande, Phoebe Dynevor, and Emily Ratajkowski.
“I am just very straightforward,” Davidson stated during a May 2021 interview on “The Breakfast Club” when asked about his dating strategy. He mentioned he avoids “playing any relationship games.” “I believe many individuals attempt to present — not even their best version — but a fabricated persona they wish to embody. And eventually, that facade will crumble, you know?”
The actor emphasized the importance of honesty with potential partners. “Initially, I’m upfront, ‘Hey, I have issues. Here are my problems. Here’s what I do. Here are my therapists. This is the situation,’” he elaborated. “And that can be overwhelming for some … or they might appreciate the refreshing honesty. Alternatively, it can be a bit intense, and some people can manage that.”
Recent Relationships and Public Scrutiny
More recently, Davidson was in a relationship with his Bodies, Bodies, Bodies costar Chase Sui Wonders for under a year before their separation in August 2023. He subsequently dated Madelyn Cline later that year, but they parted ways in the summer of 2024. Earlier this month, Us Weekly confirmed his relationship with model Elsie Hewitt.
“I’m in my twenties and I’ve dated people. For some reason, that’s considered extraordinary and fascinating to people. I personally don’t find it particularly interesting,” Davidson commented during a March 2023 episode of the “Real Ones With Jon Bernthal” podcast. “I’ve been in the entertainment industry for almost half my life—around 14 or 15 years and on national television. In roughly 12 years, I’ve been in relationships with 10 people. I don’t believe that’s excessive, but for some, it’s highly captivating. It became the primary subject of discussion.”
