From Quiet Arrival to Card Shark: Julie Chrisley’s Prison Adjustment
According to Sharita Mona, who spent eight months with Julie Chrisley, the reality star initially appeared reserved upon entering the correctional facility. In an interview on Savannah Chrisley’s podcast, Unlocked, Sharita recounted Julie’s demeanor during her initial days of incarceration.
Sharita described her first encounter with Julie to Savannah, stating, “She had her head down. She wasn’t really talking to anybody.” Sharita elaborated, “She smiled, but you could tell she was in deep thought. She was contemplating her situation. And some individuals greeted her, but she remained solitary and introspective. She was very quiet.”
Finding Recreation: Julie Chrisley’s Card Game Hobby
However, Sharita revealed a shift in Julie’s disposition as time progressed. “Later, when she started playing cards,” Sharita noted, “she showed a different side of her personality,” jokingly adding, “She was quite the card shark.”
Savannah responded with immediate recognition, “Oh, yeah,” confirming that playing cards was likely a long-standing pastime for her mother.
Julie joined a card-playing group consisting of women who were also acquaintances of Sharita, facilitating their introduction and subsequent friendship.
Real Estate Mentorship Behind Bars
Sharita fondly remembered Julie’s encouragement regarding pursuing a career in real estate upon her release. She disclosed that Julie even conducted real estate classes for fellow inmates during their time in prison.
Empowered by the knowledge imparted by Julie, Sharita successfully flipped a house shortly after her release, earning a $60,000 profit.

Lindsie’s Reflections on Family Visits

She stated, “The last time I visited my dad was probably at the beginning of last year, if I recall correctly.”

Todd and Julie Chrisley’s Convictions and Sentencing

Savannah Chrisley Navigates Difficult Prison Visits
Lindsie’s comments follow Savannah Chrisley’s recent acknowledgement of the emotional challenges associated with visiting her parents in prison.
The 26-year-old television personality recently addressed the challenging conditions her father faces and opened up about her recent visits with both parents on her Unlocked podcast.
Savannah shared that she finds visiting her mother, Julie, 51, at her facility separate from her 55-year-old husband Todd, has become increasingly difficult.
Savannah explained, “I used to believe it would become easier with time, but I now realize that was wishful thinking. It actually becomes more challenging. Each departure becomes harder, knowing you are leaving them behind.”
Impact on Families and Seeking Support
Beyond the difficulty of leaving her parents, Savannah also expressed the emotional burden of witnessing other families during prison visitations.
Savannah continued, “It undeniably fractures numerous families. Many families lack the necessary resources to access the help they desperately need or are seeking, or they may lack guidance.β
Finding Intentional Connection Through Separate Visits
She noted that the separate visits with her parents have unexpectedly fostered quality time and provided clarity in her life.
The television personality stated, “I appreciate the one-on-one time, and we engage in truly meaningful conversations. I find myself reflecting on various aspects of life, including childhood memories, and we have conversations that I feel have been long overdue.β
