Ryanair unveils new Prime subscription that could save flyers hundreds of pounds

Ryanair Launches “Prime” Subscription for Frequent Flyers

Ryanair, Europe’s leading budget airline, has unveiled a new subscription service, “Ryanair Prime,” aimed at attracting and rewarding its most frequent passengers. For an annual fee, subscribers to Ryanair Prime will gain access to a range of benefits designed to enhance their travel experience and offer significant savings on flights. This innovative program provides cost-conscious travelers with opportunities to secure discounted fares and premium perks.

Prime Membership Benefits and Cost Savings

Launched on Monday, March 24th, the Ryanair Prime subscription program is structured to offer substantial value. According to Ryanair, members who fly approximately 12 times per year could potentially save up to Β£420. This saving significantly outweighs the annual subscription cost of Β£79, representing a potential fivefold return on investment. Even passengers flying as few as three times annually can expect to realize savings, with Ryanair estimating these individuals will save around Β£105.

  • Free Reserved Seats: Choose your preferred seat at no extra cost.
  • Free Travel Insurance: Enjoy complimentary travel insurance on every flight booked under the subscription.
  • Exclusive Seat Sales: Gain access to monthly member-exclusive seat sales, providing opportunities to secure the best flight deals throughout the year.

Executive Commentary on the New Subscription

Dara Brady, Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer, commented on the launch of Ryanair Prime, stating: “Ryanair has consistently provided the lowest fares and best services in Europe for four decades. Ryanair Prime extends our commitment to price leadership with an exciting new subscriber discount scheme.”

Brady further elaborated, “Ryanair Prime offers frequent flyers who seek affordable and regular travel a valuable option. For a modest annual fee of Β£79, members receive 12 months of benefits, including access to 12 exclusive annual seat sales, complimentary reserved seating, and free travel insurance with each flight taken on Europe’s number one airline.”

Limited Availability and How to Subscribe

Membership to Ryanair Prime will be initially capped at 250,000 subscribers, offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested individuals are encouraged to register promptly via the airline’s official website to secure their membership. Subscribers also have the option to include a “Ryanair Prime Companion” in their subscription for an added fee, further enhancing the value for couples or travel partners.

Ryanair’s Strong Performance and Customer Satisfaction

In the fiscal year concluding in March 2024, Ryanair transported an impressive 184 million passengers. Furthermore, from January 2024 to February 2025, customer satisfaction levels consistently reached 85% or higher each month, demonstrating the airline’s commitment to service quality.
