Kirstie Allsopp Criticizes Euston Station’s Condition and Mayor Sadiq Khan
Television personality Kirstie Allsopp, known for her role on Channel 4, recently voiced her disapproval of the conditions at Euston Station in London, directing her criticism towards Mayor Sadiq Khan. The Love It or List It presenter, while taking a break from filming with co-star Phil Spencer, shared her concerns via an Instagram live broadcast while traveling by car.
Social Media Broadcast from Car Sparks Station Complaint
During the impromptu social media session, the 53-year-old personality informed her followers about a “shocking confession” made by Phil Spencer. Their on-camera conversation took an unexpected turn when filming equipment detached from their vehicle’s roof. After pulling over to readjust the camera, Allsopp, a self-proclaimed “Keep Britain Tidy Ambassador,” shifted the focus of her broadcast.
“Appalling” State of Taxi Rank at Euston Station
“I was greatly disturbed yesterday upon arriving at Euston Station and witnessing the deplorable condition of the taxi rank,” Allsopp declared. She further explained action taken on social media platform X (formerly Twitter): “I tweeted about it, and if the situation is not rectified by Saturday, I intend to personally visit with my sons and any willing volunteers to undertake a cleanup effort myself.”
Direct Warning to Authorities and Confession of Past Littering
Allsopp directly addressed relevant authorities: “So, Camden Council, Euston station management, Mayor of London, consider yourselves warned.” In a surprising twist, she then revealed Spencer’s past transgression: “Phil has just admitted that he was once fined for littering. In some respects, I am encouraged that fines are being issued, yet in other respects, I am utterly dismayed, as is he,” she stated, turning the camera to her co-star.
Phil Spencer Expresses “Embarrassment” Over Past Infraction
Spencer concurred, “Yeah, dismayed, I’m embarrassed,” acknowledging the incident occurred “a long time ago.” Earlier, on Monday, March 25th, Allsopp utilized X to express her dismay, posting: “OMG the West Garden taxi rank at Euston Station is a pigsty, litter everywhere, weeks old. No one looking after the plants, truly shocking & utterly disgusting, who has allowed it to deteriorate like this? @NetworkRailEU @CamdenCouncil @MayorofLondon @visitlondon @BBCLondonNews.”
