Iran Issues Warning Amid US Military Buildup in Middle East
Tehran has cautioned that no nation would “dare” to launch an assault on Iran, as the US prepares to significantly strengthen its military forces in the region amidst escalating tensions. The United States is deploying a second aircraft carrier strike group to the area, coinciding with increased American airstrikes targeting Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
Iranian Official Dismisses Direct Talks, Hints at Indirect Engagement
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi responded to the heightened regional activity by asserting his country’s capabilities, stating that their advanced military strength serves as a deterrent. “Our adversaries are fully aware of the ramifications of any aggression against our territory,” he declared, as reported by Newsweek. The Foreign Minister also indicated that Iran would not engage in “any direct negotiations” with the US, following a letter from President Donald Trump proposing discussions on a revised nuclear agreement.
However, Aragachi suggested that “indirect negotiations remain a viable option,” leaving room for diplomatic maneuvering through intermediaries.
