Suzanne Somers Lives On as AI Replica After Death

Suzanne Somers, the beloved star of “Three’s Company,” has returned in a unique form.

Nearly two years following her death in October 2023, an artificial intelligence likeness of the actress was recently unveiled, engaging in conversation with her husband, Alan Hamel, 88.

“Meeting you was like a breath of fresh air,” the AI entity expressed to Hamel in a public demonstration captured on video and reported by Us Weekly on Monday.

Digital Twin Created by Robotics Firm

According to reports, Hamel collaborated with Realbotix Corp, a robotics firm, to develop a “digital twin” of Somers. This AI-powered representation is said to access and recount details from Somers’ extensive career spanning over five decades, as well as her 46-year marriage to Hamel.

Collaboration Between Robotics and AI

Realbotix and Hollo.AI, a platform specializing in conversational AI, joined forces to imbue “human-like conversational AI into a Realbotix robot.” The Somers replica is being lauded as a pioneering venture merging robotics and artificial intelligence.

Sharing Memories with Alan Hamel

“Alan Hamel was my wonderful husband of 55 years,” Somers’ “digital twin” stated during the public viewing in Dana Point, California, this month. “He’s my partner in all aspects of life and love, and we’ve shared countless beautiful memories.”

When prompted to recall a specific memory with Hamel, the Somers AI recounted an anecdote about a cooking segment they filmed together.

“One of my favorites is from long ago, when Alan and I were filming a cooking segment,” the replica responded.
