UConn Huskies’ pursuit of a historic March Madness three-peat concluded abruptly with a 77-75 loss to the Florida Gators.
The national champions (24-11) were eliminated in the second round of this year’s NCAA Tournament. The No. 1 seed Gators (32-4) dashed their aspirations for a third consecutive championship in a captivating matchup on Sunday afternoon.
Dan Hurley’s No. 8 seed team aimed to become the first men’s program to achieve a three-peat since UCLA’s dominant streak of seven straight titles in the 1960s and 70s, should they have triumphed again in 2025.
