Joe Gatto, recognized for his role as a former mainstay on Impractical Jokers, is not only a celebrated comedian at 48 years old but also a devoted husband and father.
In 2021, Gatto shared his departure from the hit show, concurrently announcing his separation from his wife, Bessy Gatto. Through an Instagram post on December 31 of that year, he communicated to fans, “Hey, Everyone. However, in 2023, the couple revealed their reconciliation, clarifying they had never legally divorced. “10 years ago when we embarked on this journey, I could have never envisioned the wildly unpredictable ride, complete with peaks and valleys, that our marriage would experience. Who is Joe Gatto?
Beyond his comedic talents, Joe Gatto is an accomplished actor and producer. Born on June 5, 1976, in Staten Island, New York, he spent his formative years there and forged lasting friendships with his Impractical Jokers colleagues Sal Vulcano, James “Murr” Murray, and Brian “Q” Quinn.
Their paths first crossed during high school within the Improvisation Club. After college, the group reunited and established The Tenderloins, an improv and sketch comedy troupe, in 1998. Initially sharing content on platforms such as YouTube and MySpace, their breakthrough occurred when they secured $100,000 in NBC’s It’s Your Show competition for their sketch Time Thugs. This triumph paved the way for their own show on truTV, and in 2011, Impractical Jokers premiered. The program rapidly gained traction. Throughout its run, Joe, alongside his fellow Tenderloins members, cultivated a dedicated fanbase through their uproarious antics and improvisational comedic style, until his departure in 2021.
