Russell Apologises to Norris for ‘Disgusting’ Prank After Chinese GP Sprint
George Russell has issued an apology to Lando Norris following a playful, but ultimately unwelcome, prank after the Chinese Grand Prix sprint race.
The Prank in the Interview Area
Upon entering the post-sprint interview pen, Russell approached Norris and inserted a finger on each side of his mouth, physically forcing a smile.
Norris, visiblyReacting to the unwanted contact, wiped his mouth and jokingly retorted to Russell, “Don’t touch me!”
Russell’s Sarcastic Explanation
Russell responded in a facetious manner, stating, “I’m just trying to make you smile, mate.”
He then proceeded to inform Norris that he had just come from the restroom and had supposedly washed his hands. Norris appeared unimpressed and remarked, “Did you just go to the toilet? You better have washed your hands, that’s grim… Jesus! I need some disinfectant.”
Sarcastic Apology and Aftermath
Russell’s subsequent apology carried a tone of sarcasm as he told his rival, “Sorry mate that was pretty disgusting, I do apologise.”
Norris jokingly threatened further action, quipping, “I’m reporting you to HR.”
