Former US Attorney Jessica Aber Found Dead in Virginia Home
Authorities are investigating the death of Jessica Aber, the former US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. Police discovered her body at her residence on Saturday morning, prompting an inquiry into the unexpected passing of the prominent legal figure.
Discovery and Initial Investigation
Alexandria Police Department officers located Ms. Aber, 43, at her home shortly before 9:20 a.m. on Saturday. Ms. Aber, a Biden appointee, had previously resigned from her position in January.
The Alexandria Police Department has stated that the circumstances surrounding her death are currently under investigation.

The Virginia medical examiner’s office will determine the official cause of death.
Law enforcement responded to Ms. Aber’s Alexandria home following a report of an “unresponsive woman,” according to reports.

Jessica Aber’s Career
Before her appointment as US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Ms. Aber served as an assistant US attorney for the same district starting in 2009. From 2015 to 2016, she acted as counsel to the assistant attorney general for the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice.
President Joe Biden nominated her for the esteemed US Attorney position in 2021, and the Senate unanimously confirmed her appointment.
