Trump Threatens Tesla Vandal Suspects with El Salvador ‘Mega-Prison’
Former President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to individuals accused of vandalizing and firebombing Tesla vehicles and charging stations.
He threatened to potentially send those apprehended to a large, high-security prison in El Salvador, the same facility where his administration has deported individuals alleged to be Venezuelan gang members.
Attorney General Vows “Full Force of the Law”
Trump’s remarks followed statements from Attorney General Pam Bondi, who asserted that suspects would face the “full force of the law” for reportedly using Molotov cocktails to attack Teslas.
The former President stated, “I look forward to watching the sick terrorist thugs get 20 year jail sentences for what they are doing to Elon Musk and Tesla.”
He added sarcastically, “Perhaps they could serve them in the prisons of El Salvador, which have become so recently famous for such lovely conditions!”

Social Media Post Amplifies Warning
Trump also reiterated his warning on Truth Social, writing, “People that get caught sabotaging Teslas will stand a very good chance of going to jail for up to twenty years, and that includes the funders. WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!!!”
Reference to El Salvador Prison Conditions
These posts emerged less than a week after the prior administration deported over 200 alleged gang members to El Salvador. The President of El Salvador subsequently released video footage appearing to show these individuals being processed into a correctional facility.
Trump’s comments are widely understood to refer to El Salvador’s “terrorism confinement center,” known as Cecot, which has recently gained international attention.
Journalistic accounts have described the facility as having harsh conditions. One report cited described cells with:
- No mattresses or sheets
- Steel frames for beds
- Same meal served daily
- Ban on utensils, requiring hand-feeding
- Open toilets in large cells
- Constant 24/7 lighting
The report questioned the ability of individuals to endure such conditions.
Context of Recent Events
Trump’s recent statements reflect several ongoing issues. These include his strong reaction to a federal judge’s order halting the deportation of individuals identified by the administration as members of the Tren de Aragua Venezuelan gang.
“WE WANT VIOLENT CRIMINALS OUT OF OUR COUNTRY!” Trump posted online.
Judge’s Order and Repercussions
Judge James Boasberg is reportedly seeking clarification from the administration regarding deportation flights that were allegedly already in progress when his order was issued. Trump and Elon Musk have publicly called for the judge’s impeachment, prompting responses from Republican members of the House of Representatives.
The administration has not released the identities of those deported, although a leaked list was published by CBS News. Lawyers representing some of the deported individuals have asserted their clients’ innocence.
Tesla and Elon Musk Support
Trump has also publicly supported Musk and Tesla, even as Tesla stock values have decreased.
He recently acquired a Tesla vehicle and displayed it at the White House. Furthermore, former Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick publicly encouraged individuals to “buy Tesla,” a departure from typical governmental neutrality regarding financial recommendations.
Crackdown on Tesla Attacks
The prior administration has pledged to aggressively address attacks on Tesla dealerships and vehicles, which have reportedly increased following Musk’s association with workforce reductions within federal agencies.
Attorney General Bondi stated that three individuals have been charged in connection with attacks on Tesla properties.
“Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars,” she declared.
Specific Incidents
Details of the incidents include:
- One individual accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at an Oregon Tesla dealership.
- Another arrested in Colorado for attempting to ignite Molotov cocktails near a dealership.
- A third arrested for vandalizing a South Carolina dealership, spray-painting anti-Trump and pro-Ukraine messages.
