Morgan Gibbs-White, Jarell Quansah, and Aaron Ramsdale have reportedly been left out of the England squad for Friday night’s match against Albania.

Tuchel selected a provisional 26-player squad for the Three Lions’ World Cup qualifying fixtures at Wembley this week. The German manager is aiming for a positive start to his leadership of the England team.
However, regulations require Tuchel to reduce the squad size for each game, as matchday rosters are limited to a maximum of 23 players. Consequently, Nottingham Forest midfielder Gibbs-White, Liverpool defender Quansah, and Southampton goalkeeper Ramsdale are expected to be absent from the Albania game at Wembley, according to sources at the BBC.
Gibbs-White, who was a late addition to the squad following Cole Palmer’s withdrawal due to injury, might consider himself unlucky to be omitted, considering his impressive club form this season.
Quansah, and to a lesser extent Ramsdale, were more anticipated to be among those cut from the extended squad. Quansah has primarily featured as a substitute for Liverpool throughout the current season.
Ramsdale, on the other hand, appears to have lost his starting position to Burnley’s James Trafford, largely attributed to the Clarets’ strong defensive performance this season.

Tuchel’s Vision for England: Identity, Hunger, and Intimidation
Ahead of his inaugural match, marking the beginning of what England hopes will be a successful era, Tuchel delivered a critical assessment of England’s approach under Gareth Southgate at Euro 2024.
Outlining perceived deficiencies, Tuchel noted: ‘The identity, the clarity, the rhythm, the repetition of patterns, player freedom and expression, the hunger. In my view, they seemed more concerned with avoiding tournament elimination than driven by the excitement and desire to win.’
Regarding his aspirations for England as they prepare to face Albania and then Latvia on Monday, Tuchel stated: ‘I want opponents to feel intimidated when they see our team in the tunnel, to know they are in for a difficult match. That we are individually talented, play for top clubs, but also united, ready to fight for each other, and will be a formidable challenge.’
Tuchel emphasized transparency in his communication: ‘Be assured that anything I express in a press conference has already been communicated to the players. They are aware of my Euro 2024 evaluation, but it’s not about dwelling on the past. It’s about focusing on “what I want now”. The message is forward-looking. I felt a sense of restraint – the team didn’t exhibit enough passion and unity to achieve success.’
