Rachel Zegler leaves Gal Gadot out of ‘Snow White’ tribute after rumors of ‘tension’: ‘Family I came to care for deeply’

Speculation Swirls as Rachel Zegler Omits Gal Gadot from “Snow White” Tribute Post

Did Rachel Zegler intentionally exclude her “Snow White” co-star, Gal Gadot, from a recent social media post? Fans are suggesting this might be the case after Zegler’s Instagram carousel celebrating the film seemed to conspicuously leave out Gadot.

Social Media Tribute Sparks Debate

In a move appearing to commemorate the release of the live-action Disney remake, Zegler, 23, shared a series of images from her time filming “Snow White.” Notably absent from the online tribute was any mention of Gadot, 39, who portrays the Evil Queen, and the actress did not appear in any of the shared photos.

Zegler captioned her post, reflecting on her experience: “This movie was a life-altering journey spanning approximately four years of my career. The personal growth experienced from age twenty (when I was cast) to twenty-three (my current age) is indescribable, yet it’s captured on film forever,” she wrote. “I truly matured during this production—navigating challenges, accomplishing difficult tasks, experiencing joy and sorrow, celebrating my 21st birthday, living far from my family, forging new friendships, and developing a deep affection for the incredible individuals I collaborated with over three magical summers in London.”

The “West Side Story” star further commented that beyond “the greatest crew in the world,” the selected images only hinted at the “fun, magic, and love that permeated the entire process.”

Concluding her message, Zegler stated, “‘Snow White’ is now playing in theaters. It represents a significant part of my heart, and now it’s yours. I hope it brings you enjoyment and allows you to experience the enchantment we were fortunate to live daily. And always remember, you possess the power to brighten the world.”

Representatives for Zegler have been contacted for comment.

Rumors of Tension Amidst Film Release

This sentimental tribute surfaces amidst ongoing public discussion surrounding the “Snow White” remake, which has faced scrutiny since its inception.

Speculation of discord between the lead actresses has intensified, fueled by their divergent perspectives on the conflict in Gaza.

Following the initial trailer release, Zegler expressed support for Palestine on social media platform X.

Conversely, Gadot conveyed her concern following the October 7th attacks, stating, “My heart is breaking. My nation is at war. My worries are with my family, my friends, my people.”

Differing Views May Contribute to Distance

Recent insider reports suggest a lack of camaraderie between the two actresses. An anonymous source informed People magazine that “their differing political viewpoints contribute to the strain.”

Another source corroborated this, mentioning “a significant age difference and contrasting political stances” as factors.

Despite any perceived distance between Gadot and Zegler, the “Fast & Furious” actress reportedly “enjoyed the filming experience.”

An insider further clarified, “She had no issues with Rachel, but they are not close. … They collaborated professionally, and that was the extent of it.”

“Magical Creatures” Replace Dwarfs in Modern Adaptation

Prior to production, it was leaked that Disney opted to replace the traditional dwarf characters with “magical creatures” of various sizes and genders.

The studio addressed the ensuing discussion, explaining they adopted a “different approach” to “avoid perpetuating stereotypes” present in the original 1937 animated film.

This revision sparked online criticism, with some fans accusing the studio of being overly “politically correct” and “woke.”

Peter Dinklage Voices Concerns Over Stereotypes

Actor Peter Dinklage, known for his role in “Game of Thrones” and who has dwarfism, also publicly questioned the studio’s creative choices.

“With all due respect, I was perplexed when they enthusiastically announced casting a Latina actress as Snow White while still producing ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’,” Dinklage stated during a 2022 appearance on Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast.

He elaborated, “You’re progressive in one aspect, yet you’re still perpetuating that antiquated narrative of seven dwarfs residing together in a cave. What are you doing? Have my efforts to advocate for this cause been ineffective? Perhaps I haven’t been vocal enough.” Dinklage is 55.

Calls for Boycott and Low-Key Premiere Follow Controversy

Furthermore, some Disney enthusiasts declared a boycott of the film after Zegler made critical remarks aimed at supporters of former President Donald Trump.

“I hope you experience no peace when this movie FAILS at the box office and on streaming platforms,” one social media user posted.

Amidst the various controversies, Disney opted for a subdued premiere for “Snow White” in Hollywood, foregoing the traditional, media-heavy red carpet event last weekend.
