Goop Video Sparks Speculation of Meghan Markle Jab
Online commentators suggest Gwyneth Paltrow‘s lifestyle brand Goop may have subtly alluded to Meghan Markle in a recent cooking video featuring Tracy Anderson.
In the video, posted to Goop’s Instagram on Wednesday, March 19, Anderson, 50, introduces herself by stating, “Hi, I’m Tracy Anderson, welcome to my actual kitchen.” She then announces a “Tracy Anderson Green Goddess Crunch Goop Salad” coming soon to Goop Kitchen.
The phrase “actual kitchen” quickly drew attention on social media. Some users speculated it was a veiled reference to reports that Meghan, 43, utilized a separate filming kitchen for her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. (Us Weekly has contacted Goop for clarification.)
Social Media Buzz Over “Actual Kitchen” Remark
“Is Tracy Anderson, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Goop taking a not-so-subtle dig at Meghan for not filming in her real kitchen?” questioned one X user, who reposted the Instagram video. The post gained traction, with numerous replies agreeing with the interpretation. Others pointed out that Meghan’s supporters have been actively commenting on the Goop video.
Meghan’s Choice of Filming Location
Meghan has openly discussed her decision to film her Netflix program, which debuted earlier in March, at a Montecito residence near her home with Prince Harry and their children, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.
“I wanted to safeguard that sanctuary,” Meghan explained to People in a March 5 interview. “We’re a very close family, and I cherish those moments—putting Lili down for a nap, having meals together, enjoying quality time at the end of the day.”
She further commented, “Our kitchen is simply where Mom cooks for the family, and with a crew exceeding 80 people, that’s a considerable number of individuals to have in your home!”
Us Weekly previously reported in January that Meghan rented a separate property to serve as a filming location for the series, which has been confirmed for a second season.
Comparisons Between Meghan’s Brand and Goop
Following the launch of With Love, Meghan, Meghan unveiled her upcoming lifestyle brand, As Ever. Numerous online observers quickly drew parallels between Meghan’s new venture and Paltrow’s established Goop brand.
Paltrow’s Unfazed Reaction
Paltrow, however, appears unconcerned by any perceived rivalry.
“I don’t know Meghan and [Prince] Harry,” Paltrow, 52, stated in a Vanity Fair interview published on Tuesday, March 18. “I mean, I’ve met Meghan, and she seems very pleasant, but I don’t know her personally at all.”
Paltrow, who also resides in Montecito, playfully suggested she might attempt a friendly gesture towards the couple.
“Maybe I’ll try to navigate their security and deliver them a pie,” she joked.
