Steelers Reportedly Hosting Aaron Rodgers Visit
Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers is reportedly meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday, according to a report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Potential Deal on the Horizon
The report suggests that an agreement with the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player “could be forthcoming.” Rodgers became a free agent for the first time in his career after being released by the New York Jets on March 12.
Steelers Quarterback Situation
Currently, the Steelers’ quarterback roster includes Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson. Russell Wilson, who led Pittsburgh to the playoffs last season, is also a free agent and could potentially return to the team.
Rodgers Drawing Interest from Multiple Teams
Similar to Rodgers, Wilson has also been mentioned in connection with the New York Giants this week, according to various reports. Meanwhile, Justin Fields, who served as Wilson’s backup in Pittsburgh last season, signed with the Jets as a free agent on Friday.
Rodgers Weighing Options
Rodgers, aged 41, is reportedly considering offers from both the Steelers and the Giants. This comes after the Minnesota Vikings purportedly withdrew from consideration earlier in the week, as per multiple reports. In 2024, Rodgers recorded 3,897 passing yards and 28 touchdowns, returning to play after recovering from an Achilles injury sustained in his debut game with the Jets in September 2023.
Accomplished NFL Career
A ten-time Pro Bowl selectee, Rodgers holds prominent positions in NFL history, ranking fifth in touchdown passes (503) and seventh in passing yards (62,952).
