In addition to the throwback prices, Pizza Express is also introducing a ‘1965 Icons’ set menu from March 3rd to 28th. This set menu features two courses for £19.65.
Please note that leggera, large classic, Duo Romana, piccolo, large classic duo, and calzone pizzas, as well as Al Forno and salad dishes, are excluded from this set menu offer.
Participating Locations
The anniversary promotions are available at the majority of Pizza Express locations across the UK.
However, the offer is not valid at airport locations, selected Welcome Break service stations (Fleet, Oxford, South Mimms), Pizza Express Live music venues, or PizzaExpress supermarket pod concessions.
Celebrity Endorsements
This anniversary celebration follows endorsements from prominent figures. Celebrity chef Marcus Wareing previously declared Pizza Express as serving the best pizza in London. The Michelin-starred chef revealed his preference for the chain’s ‘American Hot’ pizza on a ‘Romana’ base with added chilli on TikTok last summer, sparking online discussion.
Hollywood actress Eva Longoria has also publicly praised the restaurant chain. She once mentioned to Jack Whitehall that her best Italian dining experience was at a Pizza Express in Cardiff.
Longoria, known for her cookbooks and former ownership of a Los Angeles diner, lauded the Cardiff branch while filming the BBC comedy series “Decline and Fall” in Wales.
Whitehall recounted that Longoria was seemingly unaware of Pizza Express’s widespread presence in the UK, believing it to be a “family-owned” establishment serving exceptional “pasta”.
Pizza Express History
Pizza Express first opened its doors in 1965 on Wardour Street in Soho, London, becoming the city’s first restaurant dedicated to serving full-sized pizzas. Today, the chain encompasses 300 restaurants throughout the United Kingdom.
Globally, Pizza Express operates 100 branches, with locations in India, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The company has stated ambitions to further expand, aiming to reach 1,000 restaurants by opening locations in America by 2030.
