Outlander Fans Anticipate Final Season After Dramatic Season Seven Finale
Viewers of Outlander are eagerly awaiting the eighth and concluding season, following the intense climax of its seventh season.
End of an Era for Jamie and Claire Fraser
Stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have concluded their portrayal of the beloved Jamie and Claire Fraser in the acclaimed Starz series, marking the end of their on-screen journey.
Brianna and Roger’s Heartfelt Reunion in Season Seven Finale
The recent season finale resonated with audiences as Brianna, played by Sophie Skelton, and Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) were joyfully reunited after experiencing separation across different timelines.
Behind-the-Scenes Fun: Sophie Skelton on Filming Reunion Scenes
Sophie Skelton recently shared an amusing behind-the-scenes video clip, revealing her perhaps excessive enthusiasm while filming their highly anticipated reunion scene.
She announced, “It’s a wrap on season seven, and we are back together! Reunion!” Richard Rankin echoed this sentiment, stating, “On the last day, we’re back together.”
Recurring Theme of Reunions
This separation is one of many throughout the duo’s eight-year collaboration, with Skelton humorously commenting on the recurring motif of their reunions.
“There’s always running,” she remarked. “Which always seems to be me, actually, when I think about it, running to Roger.”
Rankin added, “It feels like they have some experience with it now. It’s an experienced coming together.”
Skelton recalled a previous season where their characters were separated for an extended period, culminating in a poignant meeting at Aunt Jocasta’s (Maria Doyle Kennedy) residence.
Comedic Mishaps During Filming Intense Scenes
Skelton recounted a humorous anecdote about the chaos of their passionate reunions, candidly admitting, “Obviously, with me involved, it turns into knocking the wind out of him.”
The Outlander actress mentioned that her historically accurate costume did not simplify matters on that particular day of filming.
“And also, I was running, trying to run in the big skirt, with shoes on that were causing blisters,” she explained.
“Running there and, of course, back to the starting point to film the scene again.”
Richard Rankin provided his perspective with a laugh, “I remember just watching you that day from a distance, just watching you run.”
“It’s like, she’s running. She’s still running. She’s still running…”
Looking Ahead to Outlander Season Eight
Despite the demanding nature of filming, both Skelton and Rankin conveyed their excitement about returning for season seven and ultimately concluding Brianna and Roger’s narrative in the upcoming season eight.
Outlander is available for streaming on MGM+ via Prime Video.
