Apple Reorganizes Executive Team Amid AI Development Delays
Apple is reportedly reorganizing its executive leadership to revitalize its artificial intelligence initiatives after facing protracted delays, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Siri Enhancements Delayed to 2026
Earlier this month, Apple acknowledged that certain AI enhancements planned for its digital assistant, Siri, would be postponed until 2026. The company did not specify the reason for the delay.
Mike Rockwell to Lead Siri Development
According to the report, Mike Rockwell, VP overseeing the Vision Products Group and known as an instrumental figure behind the Vision Pro headset, will now head Siri development.
Rockwell will report to software head Craig Federighi, effectively transferring responsibility for Siri away from AI chief John Giannandrea, Bloomberg stated.
Paul Meade to Oversee Vision Products Group
Taking over Rockwell’s previous role, Paul Meade, formerly leading hardware engineering for the Vision Pro, will now manage the Vision Products Group, the report added.
Apple’s AI Ambitions: Apple Intelligence
Apple declined to immediately comment on the report when contacted by Reuters.
Last year, Apple unveiled Apple Intelligence, a suite of AI-powered features designed to enhance user experience with functionalities including email rewriting and inbox summarization.
