Marcus Jordan, 34, son of basketball icon Michael Jordan, is seeking treatment for substance abuse following his arrest for driving under the influence (DUI) on February 4 in Orange County, Florida. According to police reports, authorities found Jordan’s vehicle on train tracks. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noted slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol. A subsequent search allegedly uncovered a bag containing a white substance later identified as cocaine.
Reports indicate a train was approaching the location, approximately 10 minutes away, when authorities arrived.

Jordan has entered a plea of not guilty to charges including DUI, possession of cocaine, and resisting arrest.

Jordan’s legal representation has requested the court to permit him entry into a pre-trial substance abuse education and treatment program. Court documents state he “acknowledges that he needs help to overcome the challenges of his alcohol/substance use and is amenable to treatment.”
The filing further emphasizes Jordan’s commitment to rehabilitation: “Mr. Jordan acknowledges the seriousness of the charges against him, he respectfully submits that he is an ideal candidate for the Pre-Trial Substance Abuse Education and Treatment Intervention Program due to his strong desire to live as a responsible, drug-free, productive member in the community.”
The document adds, “Mr. Jordan is dedicated to becoming a responsible, drug-free, and productive member of the community.
