Though the film depicted his apparent demise and even a gravestone, enthusiasts remain hopeful regarding the character’s survival, especially with John Wick 5 in development.
Ballerina Spin-off: A Glimpse into the Wick Universe
Ahead of the next installment, John Wick 3.5, a spin-off titled Ballerina, is scheduled for release next year.
The movie is situated within the timeline of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, specifically six months before Chapter 4. It centers on Ana de Armas as Rooney Brown, a dancer who transforms into an assassin.
Returning Characters and New Faces
The recently released trailer showcases Ian McShane’s return as Continental manager Winston Scott and features the late Lance Reddick, who passed away shortly before the release of John Wick: Chapter 4 at the age of 60.
Reddick’s character, Charon, also met his end in the fourth film, but he completed his scenes for the prequel spin-off, Ballerina, in 2022.
The cast also includes Anjelica Huston, reprising her role as The Director from the third film, and Norman Reedus, who joins as a mysterious character named Pine.
Keanu Reeves’ Return and Future Prospects
Reeves himself makes an appearance as Wick, confronting the Ballerina. However, speculation abounds concerning a possible alliance in John Wick 5.
