Cassie Ventura's four-word response to Kanye West after rapper supported Diddy

Cassie Ventura Responds to Kanye West’s Diddy Support

Cassie Ventura has amplified a sharp message directed at Kanye West following his public endorsement of her former partner, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is currently incarcerated.

The singer, 38, re-shared a blunt statement originally posted by rapper Playboi Carti. Carti’s message on X came after he became the subject of West’s recent public remarks.

‘YE STFU,’ Carti posted, using the acronym STFU, which stands for ‘shut the f**k up,’ in response to West’s comments.

Ventura signaled her agreement with Carti’s sentiment by re-posting a screenshot of his tweet from The Shade Room to her Instagram Stories.

News of Ventura’s repost apparently reached West, 47, who subsequently told her to ‘shut the f**k up’ on X, while reiterating his backing of Diddy.

Ventura’s support of Carti’s message is not unexpected, given West’s vocal support for Combs, against whom Ventura has made grave accusations of rape and physical assault.

Diddy’s Legal Troubles

Combs is currently in custody, facing serious charges including sex trafficking and racketeering offenses after his arrest on September 16. He is expected to remain in jail until his trial, scheduled for May 2025.

Cassie Ventura’s Role in Diddy’s Downfall

Ventura has been central to the unfolding legal drama, having accused Combs of repeated physical abuse and rape in a significant $30 million lawsuit. Surveillance footage also emerged appearing to show Combs assaulting her in a hotel hallway. The lawsuit was resolved by Combs just a day after it was filed.

Despite the serious allegations and visual evidence, West has:

  • Mocked the hotel assault on X.
  • Appealed to former President Trump to ‘Free Puff’ on social media.
  • Launched a fashion collaboration with Diddy.
  • Asserted that Combs is a better father than himself.

On Tuesday, West also accused Ventura of extortion, referencing her $30 million legal claim.

‘HOW EVERY NI*** YOU KNOW HIT A GIRL BEFORE BUT EVERYBODY SO MAD AT PUFF,’ he posted in a tweet that has since been deleted. ‘SO CASSIE AINT EXTORT PUFF? CASSIE CAME TO PUFF AND SAID GIMME 30 MILLION OR IMA RELEASE A TELL ALL BOOK THATS LOOK LIKE EXTORTION TO ME.’

Timeline of Cassie and Diddy’s Relationship

Ventura and Combs had an extended, intermittent relationship spanning 11 years.

Their relationship reportedly began secretly in 2007, two years after they initially met when Ventura was 19. They publicly acknowledged their romance in 2012 and separated in 2018.

Details of Cassie’s Lawsuit

Ventura’s lawsuit, filed on November 16, 2023, accused Combs of ‘rape, and of repeated physical abuse over about a decade,’ indirectly explaining her absence from the music scene.

In the legal filing, she alleged that towards the end of their relationship, he forcibly entered her residence and raped her.

Her lawsuit detailed accusations of drugging, intimidation, and coercion into having sex with male sex workers in his presence throughout their relationship.

Combs settled the case swiftly, within 24 hours of its filing.

Surveillance Video of Hotel Assault Emerges

In March, disturbing surveillance video surfaced, depicting Combs physically attacking Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, in 2016.

The footage shows Combs, clad only in a towel, pursuing Ventura down a hallway before grabbing her by the head and forcefully slamming her to the ground.

Cassie’s Statement on the Video

Ventura addressed the unsettling video in a public statement, expressing gratitude for the support she had received.

‘Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet.

‘The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning.

‘Domestic Violence is the issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.’

Cassie’s Reaction to Diddy’s Arrest

At the time of Combs’ arrest, a source close to Ventura indicated that it was not a celebratory moment for her.

‘She is relieved that the case has escalated but she isn’t celebrating,’ the insider told DailyMail.com.

‘She is upset that people didn’t listen to other alleged victims in the 90s because she would have been spared.’

‘Cassie is taking time away to focus on her peace because the details of the case are triggering,’ the source added.

She was reportedly also ‘hurt’ by jokes and memes referencing baby oil after federal agents allegedly confiscated ‘1,000 bottles’ of baby oil and lubricant from Combs’ residences in Miami and Los Angeles, purportedly linked to his alleged sex parties known as ‘Freak Offs.’

Defense Claims Video Manipulation

In November, Combs’ defense lawyers claimed the security video of him attacking Ventura was ‘edited’.

Federal prosecutors cited the video as evidence of Combs’ alleged sex trafficking of Ventura and the potential danger he poses to other women if released on bail.

However, Combs’ defense team countered, arguing that the prosecution used a ‘manipulated version’ of the footage and ‘invented’ the narrative presented in court, according to ABC News.

The defense stated that the video depicted a ‘domestic dispute’ where Combs pursued Ventura to retrieve his cellphone and clothing, not a ‘freak off’.

Combs’ attorneys asserted that ‘more complete footage’ of the incident ‘contradicts’ the prosecution’s claims and offered to bring in a forensic video analyst for his bail hearing.

Ventura’s legal team has contested these claims, maintaining the video’s authenticity and expecting its admission as evidence.

In a statement to DailyMail.com, Meredith Firetog, dismissed Diddy’s argument, stating, ‘It’s not surprising Diddy would make a disingenuous argument to exclude the disturbing video from being shown to the jury in the upcoming trial.’

He added, ‘I am confident that the video fairly and accurately represents what happened, will be admitted into evidence, and that Combs will be held accountable for his depravity.’

Dispute Over Video Authenticity with CNN

Combs’ team alleges CNN altered and destroyed the original footage, seeking its exclusion in court. Ventura’s side anticipates this motion will be denied.

‘Our written and oral communications with CNN’s counsel was clear – they destroyed the original video file they received from their source,’ a statement from Diddy’s legal team issued to Dailymail.com stated.

CNN refuted Combs’ accusations of editing the clip to portray him negatively.

‘CNN never altered the video and did not destroy the original copy of the footage, which was retained by the source,’ a network spokesperson told TMZ. ‘CNN aired the story about the video several months before Combs was arrested.’

While Combs is not criminally charged for the assault seen in the video, federal prosecutors intend to use it to bolster claims of his history of violence.

Cassie Considers Music Comeback

Amid the ongoing scandal, Ventura is reportedly considering a return to her music career, which she alleges was hampered by Combs for over two decades.

She is reportedly exploring a musical resurgence, having recently registered a new song and considering releasing tracks from her extensive collection of unreleased music.

‘Cassie is considering making a comeback to music now that Diddy is behind bars and some of the executives who were his lackeys are resigning,’ a source reportedly told DailyMail.com in October.

‘She couldn’t have imagined her career would have been stalled in the way it was when her first album came out, but she has so many unreleased records that she wants to release if the timing and business is right.’

The source added, ‘Her collaborators have been informed of this, so the royalty splits have been agreed.’

This development follows Ventura’s amendments to a track titled “Into It” in May of this year, which she originally registered with Universal Music in 2010.

Ventura is also currently expecting her third child with her husband, Alex Fine.
