Meghan Markle recently made headlines after sparking a plethora of mixed reactions following the release of her Netflix cooking series, With Love, Meghan. The series is part of a multi-million dollar deal with the streaming giants and is also part of the Duchess’ rebrand, along with her lifestyle company, As Ever.
After it was revealed that the business, which was originally named American Riviera Orchard, would provide products ranging from yoga gear, home decor and cookbooks, Meghan was accused of copying another Hollywood star. Critics alleged that the Royal had ripped off actress Gwyneth Paltrow, whose wellness company, Goop, is reportedly worth over £192million. The Iron Man star, who also happens to be one of Meghan’s Montecito neighbours, addressed the comparisons in her latest interview.
When questioned about the Duchess, Gwyneth was gracious and admitted they didn’t know each other.
She shared: “I don’t know Meghan and Harry…” as she added: “I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all.
“I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes… think there’s always more than enough to go around.
The 52-year-old, who shares two kids with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, added: “Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.”
This comes after it was recently revealed that Meghan gifted some of her Montecito neighbours Christmas gifts.
Beloved broadcaster Oprah Winfrey, who also lives in the exclusive community, raved: “This is a favourite thing with the scent of a forest sent to me by my neighbour Meghan.
“If you were to come into my house, you’d see this body wash, body oil, and body milk right by the tub.”
