McFly star Danny Jones has finally issued a public apology to his wife and family after his kiss with Maura Higgins at a BRIT Awards afterparty. The I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! winner was seen locking lips with his 2025 campmate during a boozy party after the awards ceremony on March 1.
Danny, 39, has remained silent on the scandal for almost two weeks but broke his silence on Instagram on Friday afternoon. He wrote on his Story: “Hello everyone, sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.”
He signed off the short statement saying he “loved” his fans and thanked them for their “patience, understanding and support”.
Danny and his wife Georgia are reportedly “on a break and living apart from each other” after his kiss with Maura was caught on camera. The couple have been married since 2014 and share a seven-year-old son.
According to an insider, Georgia wants to “take time to process what has happened” before she can think about her future with Danny.

Neither Georgia nor Maura has commented publicly, but sources close to Maura have said that she is “really struggling” with the “relentless” backlash.
An insider told The Mirror: “Maura is a tough character but the reaction to events of the last week has been utterly relentless, and it’s fair to say it’s taken its toll. She has found all of this very difficult to navigate.
“She appreciates she’s in the public eye and there is extra interest around her, but the abuse is off the charts, and people need to calm down. She is trying to treat things as business as usual, but it’s hard.”
