Le’Veon Bell ‘adamantly denies’ allegations that he raped his cousin for around a decade – starting when she was just a child.
That is despite a jury ordering that the woman receive damages totaling $25million from Bell and another $11.05 from his brother La’Vonte, according to court documents.
Both La’Vonte and the former running back are accused of starting nonconsensual ‘incestual relations’ with her when she was just six to seven years old.
According to a lawsuit filed in Ohio last March, the woman is eight years younger than 33-year-old Bell, who played for the Jets, Steelers, Chiefs, Ravens and Buccaneers before becoming a boxer.
In October 2024, a judge issued a default judgment in the woman’s favor favor after the defendants ‘failed to move, plead, or otherwise appear in this action.’
‘Thus,’ the judgment continued, ‘liability is hereby established as to all counts of the Complaint.’ The case was sent to jury trial to determine damages. But Bell’s attorney told TMZ that the default judgement in the case is ‘bogus’. He also said the ex-NFL player ‘is in the process of filing a motion to open and reverse the default judgment’.

‘Both defendants engaged in ongoing incestual relations with the Plaintiff beginning when Plaintiff was just six to seven years old,’ the complaint reads.
‘These incestual relations continued through at least 2017,’ with Bell accused of continuously ‘engaging in these encounters’ during ‘his college years and beyond’.
It’s said that the former running back – who appeared at a Donald Trump rally ahead of last year’s election – ‘often used slang terms to instruct the minor child as to which incestual acts he wished for her to perform… for instance, he termed oral sex “fire”.’
The complaint continues: ‘None of these encounters were consensual and they happened with such frequency as to habitualize Plaintiff to the abuse’.
The woman is said to have suffered ‘extreme and ongoing mental anguish and distress as a result of the incestual sexual relations forced upon her by the Defendants.’
‘The mental injuries inflicted upon her as a result of Defendants’ actions have had immense negative effect on her interpersonal relationships and day-to-day life.’
The jury ruled that the former NFL star award the woman $20m in relation to the ‘assault, battery, and childhood sexual abuse claim’, as well as legal fees and another $5m in punitive damages.
La’Vonte Bell, meanwhile, was ordered to pay $11m in ‘compensatory damages’ related to the ‘assault, battery and childhood sexual abuse claim’.

The jury also found that he should be pay the Plaintiff’s legal fees and $50,000 in ‘punitive damages’.
DailyMail.com reached out to Bell’s attorney for comment. In a statement to TMZ, Thomas W. Shaffer said: ‘My client adamantly denies any and all allegations that have been lodged against him.
‘Further, he was never served with a civil complaint or any documents. The default judgment granted was based upon violations of his Fifth Amendment rights of due process for failing to be served.
‘My client is in the process of filing a motion to open and reverse the default judgment because the narratives of the case have never been litigated.’
