The BBC has excitedly announced a new presenter will be joining the News at One’s team from April.
The news was shared on social media platform X on Monday, 10 March, by Richard Frediani, the editor of both BBC Breakfast and BBC’s News at One. Richard said he was “delighted” to tell BBC viewers about the news
He revealed that BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst will be making her News at One debut next month in a congratulatory post.
“Delighted to welcome Nina Warhurst as a regular presenter of the News at One from April. Congratulations – a brilliant addition to the team in Salford,” Richard penned alongside a photograph of Nina.
Nina will be replacing Anna Foster on News at One, who has fronted the show since May 2024. Anna is set to join BBC Radio 4’s Today programme as one of the show’s main presenters, following the exit of Mishal Husain in December.
His post was flooded with well wishes and congratulatory messages for Nina, who is a business and consumer presenter on BBC Breakfast.
“Excellent appointment – Anna a hard act to follow on the One as she’s been brilliant, but Nina’s got similar qualities of being a top journalist and so warm and friendly,” one person wrote.
A second added: “Congratulations Nina!” while a third commented: “That’s awesome! She does a fab job on BBC Breakfast, great at her job, tons of personality, charisma, talent and she’s a #MUFC Fan like me.”
Another wrote: “Brilliant! She’s a top notch journalist and seems like a lovely person.”
Nina first joined the BBC back in 2010, when she became a regional news presenter on East Midlands Today. She then joined BBC North West, fronting BBC North West Tonight and Sunday Politics North West. Nina was later appointed political editor at BBC North West.
Following this, she began working at BBC Breakfast on a freelance basis, filling in her absent hosts. In 2020, she became the programme’s main business presenter, taking over from Steph McGovern. Last year, Nina made her debut on the BBC’s News at One.
BBC Breakfast airs at 6am on BBC One on weekdays.
