‘Easiest’ bread roll recipe uses just four ingredients and tastes ‘delicious’

Bread is something eaten every single day by many, if not most, Brits. However, the idea of making bread in our own homes is often a daunting one. But there are actually ways to make fresh, soft bread in our kitchens that don’t involve complicated kneading techniques and can be done in just one afternoon.

The beauty of TikTok is that these easy, quick and tasty recipes have never been more readily available to us. One TikTok creator, known by the username Let’s Eat, shared a short tutorial on how he makes his homemade bread rolls that are guaranteed to please your taste buds. The clip shows the crunchiness of the outside of the rolls and the soft, pillow-like texture inside, mimicking something that you might expect to spend good money on in a supermarket or even a bakery.

The rolls are made up of just four ingredients, one of which you may not yet have in your cupboard, but one that might become a staple after you try this recipe.

To make these rolls, all of the ingredients are simply mixed in a bowl and left to prove for one hour, letting the dough double in size and become “wobbly like jelly”. You will also need to preheat your oven to 200C before putting the mixture in to bake.

The ingredients the TikTok creator uses are:

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

3 cups of bread flour or all purpose flour

1 tbsp of instant or fast action yeast

1 tsp of sea salt or kosher salt

1.5 cups of very warm water

The baker notes that the water shouldn’t be boiling. You can just pour the hot water from your kitchen tap. It should be relatively hot but you should also be able to place a finger in the water without feeling any discomfort.

To create the dough, he first adds the flour and mixes it around the bowl with a whisk. He then adds the yeast and salt, mixes that around and adds in the hot water.

Once the dough has proved, he flours his work surface and cuts the mixture into six even portions, eventually molding it into roll shapes and letting them prove for another 15 minutes.

When it comes to the bake itself, he actually places them on baking paper and into a covered pan, which then goes into the oven for 30 minutes.

TikTok users took to the comments section of the video in their hundreds, sharing their thoughts on the simple recipe. One person wrote: “This looks great and I could manage making it.”

Another shared: “My mum used to make rolls just like these.”

A third person praised the creator, saying that his recipes are “the best”.
