'I am not very woo woo but Tarot has changed my life'

Kerry Ward told Express.co.uk: “My family are not into Tarot or anything esoteric at all.

“My mum said I was just born weird and always held a fascination for witches, ghosts and the paranormal.”

Kerry feels like “some people are just drawn towards that kind of thing”, including herself.

So by the time Kerry became a teenager, she got her first Tarot deck, which was the same set Jane Seymour used as Solitaire in the Bond film.

“I learnt the meanings by the book, or pack so to speak,” Kerry revealed, who began doing Tarot readings for her friends.

vCard QR Code

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

“I read a lot of different guidebooks to get a broad spectrum of ideas… then once I memorised the basic meanings, I brought my own slant to the readings.”

Feeling a little bit self-conscious about providing Tarot readings for strangers, it would take decades before Kerry would read Tarot professionally.

“I only started reading professionally aged 40,” Kerry revealed, who ended up leaving her job at Boots to pursue Tarot divination. “Tarot has changed my life.”

Far from believing the cards themselves are magical, Kerry asserted: “I am not very ‘woo woo’.”

Kerry elaborated: “It’s simply 78 cards, each with a different meaning or piece of life advice, which you can pose questions to.

“You don’t need to be psychic to read the cards or ‘believe’ in them.”

Kerry explained her line of thought: “People have been creating decks for over 500 years now and that’s a lot of human wisdom and life experience to be able to access. Tarot is a life compass, a wonderful lens, an ally, and a tool.”

As for people who are interested in having a Tarot reading by her, Kerry said: “Tarot works best with a ‘brief’, an objective, an area or question that someone needs answering.”

Kerry draws her online readings from Tarot, astrology and numerology to help people navigate their lives.

“My mission is to make tarot accessible to all. It’s a marvellous life tool,” said Kerry. “They provide a bigger picture, a different perspective, a wise and grounding voice, and a guiding light.”

Kerry said: “There is always a tomorrow, another option, a new path. Tarot helps you to find it.”
