Reacher star Alan Ritchson may be bulked up now to play US military’s Jack Reacher but he wasn’t always like this, as a video from a decade ago has proven.
Season two is well underway on Amazon Prime Video with Jack Reacher (played by Alan Ritchson) trying to track down who’s responsible for killing some of his ex-unit teammates.
Fans have praised the casting of Ritchson who closely resembles how author Lee Child described the character in his novel series of the same name.
Depicted as “extremely tall” and “extremely broad”, while Ritchson is a few inches short of the desired 6ft 5in, he pretty much fits the bill.

He actually shared a video last year on Instagram from 10 years and not only does he look entirely different, Ritchson shows off a hidden talent.

The video sees a noticeably skinnier and clean shaven Ritchson dressed in a blue jumper and jeans.
He is sat down with an acoustic guitar in hand which he begins to play as he sings his own song.
In the caption, Ritchson wrote: “Omg this video just showed up in my photo stream from 10 years ago. Why did no one tell me I looked like an 11-year-old in my late 20’s!?
“I wrote this song on my first drive out to LA in the early 2000s.
“Everything I owned packed into a tiny white Geo Storm. S
“Someone had broken into my car and stolen the radio so I had to make my own music to keep myself entertained.
“You can probably guess what leg of the journey I was on when this song popped in my head. Oh to be 11 again.”
Fans were over the moon that Ritchson shared the video, praising both his talent and his dashing good looks from a decade ago.
One commented: “Wow, dude got a voice too?! Why didn’t I know this” and a fellow user seconded: “Reacher can sing to…what can’t this man do jp but it sounds great.”
Another said: “You looked great‼️ Love the song too”, while a fourth wrote:” Omg stop you were adorable and sing beautiful.”
In fact, before Ritchson went into acting, he auditioned for the third season of American Idol.
The Reacher star tried his luck on the show when Simon Cowell, Paul Abdul and Randy Jackson were all still judges.
Abdul admitted to having a crush on the actor who was just 20 at the time, stating that he was “totally hot”.
He serenaded her with Stevie Wonder’s You Are the Sunshine of My Life and was awarded three yeses for his efforts but only made it to the second round of the show.
