Rod Stewart's wife Penny stuns fans with rare family pic as rocker's sister Mary turns 95

Sir Rod Stewart’s wife Penny Lancaster made sure to document the big moment her sister-in-law, Mary, turned 95, as she took to Instagram to share some stunning family photos with fans. The Maggie May hitmaker treated his older sister to dinner at The Ritz for her big day.

Rod, 78, posed for a heartwarming picture with Mary, who looked glamorous in a black floral sheer dress, as they posed together in front of a Christmas tree in the iconic London hotel. He captioned the snap: “Happy 95th sister Mary.”

The rocker’s other half, Penny, 52, looked equally stylish in a chic cream suit as she posed for another snap with Mary, alongside the couple’s son Alastair, 18, his girlfriend Eloise Darlington, and their younger son Aidan, 12. Sir Rod was pictured with his arm around his sister’s shoulders, while Alastair posed with his arms up in the air.

She captioned the post: “Happy 95th birthday Mary, we love you @alastairwstewart @aidenstew_1888 @sirrodstewart @eloisedarlington.” It wasn’t long before fans rushed to comment on how amazing Mary looked on her milestone birthday.

One fan gushed: “Penny, she does not look 95 ! Such a good looking family.” Another agreed: “Mary is a babe!” A third person commented: “Good for 95. keep going, lovely.”

“Happy birthday Mary you look marvelous dear..” A fourth fan praised. “Happy birthday Mary, you lovely girl!” A fifth Instagram user replied.

Sir Rod is the youngest of five children of parents Bob and Elsie Stewart, and he has always praised his brothers, Don and Bob, and sisters, Mary and Peggy, for taking care of him when he was young.

Sadly, after Peggy died at the young age of 40 in 1975, and Don and Bob – who were both in their 90s – died last year, Mary is now the singer’s only surviving sibling.

Back in 2019, at Mary’s 90th birthday party, Sir Rod paid tribute to his siblings and credited them for helping him get into music.

The Sun reported that the musician had told the crowd of guests: “Whether it was football or washing my dirty underpants, I can’t speak highly enough about these guys.

“We’ve had our arguments haven’t we Don? The odd punch-up now and again but I love you, and I love you, Mary.”
