Luke Littler branded a 'bully' as 16-year-old takes World Darts Championship by storm

Three-time dart world champion John Part has dubbed Luke Littler a “bully” for the way he keeps dismantling senior players at the World Darts Championship. The 16-year-old continued his incredible form to beat Matt Campbell and progress to the fourth round on Wednesday night.

Littler made his first appearance at Ally Pally this month and has quickly established himself as a fan favourite. Part has revealed how all the other players have been keeping their eye on the wonderkid.

“The other players are impressed…. he is a bully! He is ruling the schoolyard at the moment. You can’t argue with it. He has got the talent,” Part told Sky Sports. “You have got to have a comprehensively solid performance against him. You can’t have any down period and you have to take every shot that you get an opportunity of.”

Campbell could not lay a glove on Littler during the early stages of their third-round battle. Only a slight slip in concentration allowed the Canadian to claim a set but Littler cruised to a 4-1 victory.

“Matt got it together in the last couple of sets but Luke had every answer. He rolled over Matt early doors. Matt missed a few doubles early on,” Part added.

“Luke took every advantage and winners do that. They pound you when you are down and make it even worse. He looked every bit a winner tonight.

“He had magical outshots galore. He’s got the talent and for someone facing him now, you’ve got to look at a comprehensively solid performance against him.”

Speaking after the win, Littler said: “Unbelievable. I only wanted to win one game and I’ve won three. I’ve battled through it and I’m so happy. I just let my darts do the talking.

“As soon as I won that first game against Christian Kist I just settled and as soon as I went 2-0 up against Matt I tried to calm myself down because last time it didn’t go too well. I kept composed and got over the line.”
