Jasmine Harman has revealed to fans that her first Christmas abroad has been “depressing”, as she and her family had to eat a “half-cooked Christmas dinner.” The Channel 4 property expert relocated to Estepona, Spain with her family this year, and experienced power cut drama on Christmas Day.
Speaking into the camera, Jasmine detailed how she felt “out of sorts” waking up without being with her extended family in the UK for the first time. After taking a cold swim in the sea, she came home to find husband Jon cooking Christmas dinner when the electricity cut off.
She explained: “We’ve got lovely neighbours and everyone helped us out. But basically we didn’t have any power for the rest of Christmas Day. So, that was a bit depressing – we ate our half-cooked Christmas dinner and we’re going to do it again today!”
The mum-of-two made the huge decision to relocate to Spain this year, meaning she would have a shorter commute for work. Jasmine is a regular host of A Place in the Sun and has helped others find their dream homes for 20 years.
She lives with her husband, Jon Boast, and her two children. She met Jon whilst working on A Place in the Sun, and the pair married in 2009.

The property expert has previously spoken about the downsides of leaving her family and friends in the UK behind, especially her mother. Speaking to The Sun, she said: “You know, I really, really, really miss her. And the children miss her.
“And we don’t have anyone to help out with the childcare here yet and I think that’s a big thing. Having somebody to look after your children and then having somebody, you know, new looking after your children.
“So we haven’t got anybody yet, but my mum has been over already twice to visit, so she’s never far away. My mum likes travelling, so it’s that’s been quite nice to have her come and stay as well.”
Jasmine announced her big move abroad with an Instagram post, saying: “Life has many ups and downs. Sometimes the hardest things to do, bring the greatest rewards. Moving country has been stressful and intense and at times, overwhelming. But now we’re here and we plan to make the most of it!

She also told Hello! Magazine: “It has been a huge decision – a year or more in the making. For both of us, it was about making the best life. The years slip away and that was very much why we wanted to make this move; to have more quality time together, more family time.”
