The beautiful village in Spain so pretty Spanish people don't want you to know about it

The picturesque and beautiful village of Siurana is rated as one of the best places in Spain to go for a peaceful escape – and it is so pretty that Spanish people probably won’t want tourists to come and visit.

Situated on the outskirts of the Montsant region in the Prades Mountains, the village is conveniently nestled in Catalonia, just a few hours away from the bustle of Barcelona. Siurana offers stunning views of the Siurana Reservoir and is an ideal location for travelers looking to escape Barcelona’s busy streets.

The isolated mountain village has long been a place of refuge and sanctuary with the Moor turning the settlement into a stronghold which was the last to fall in Catalonia during the Christian Reconquista.

In more modern times, the village has attracted many mountain climbers and hikers who value the nearby cliffs and trials. In all the village’s history, location and activities has made Siurana a hit with Spanish people and tourists alike.

A visitor left a Tripadvisor review saying: “Siurana is one of the most beautiful places in Cataluna. It has great views and is unspoiled and very picturesque.

Another review left on TripAdvisor recalls: “Siurana is a great tiny town located in a high region, in Tarragona Province, in the inner-South of Catalonia.

“It is a wonderful old town with a few stone houses, where you can walk around the town and visit the Castle in ruins or the church, and specially from where you can see wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and Siurana Reservoir.

“Really views are the best of the town. Also, in town you can go to any of the few restaurants/bars to eat or drink something and you can do some very nice hikes in the surroundings of the town.”
