Some shocking images captured the blaze as flames could be seen raging around the roof of the home with smoke billowing out of the second-floor windows as debris rained down.

The majority of the damage was limited to the second story and the Houston Fire Department Chief Justine Barnes appeared on the local news station, KTRK, applauding his team for their efforts.

He shared: “They did a great job. I’m going to say in less than 10 minutes, we had a really good grip on this fire.”

The Houston home was bought by Beyonce’s family the same year she was born, 1981, for roughly $64,000 according to TMZ.

The Grammy winner stayed in the home for her first few years but the family moved out just before her younger sister, Solange, was born in 1986.

In 2018, the three-bedroom property was put up for sale for roughly $500,000 and the listing offered fans a rare chance to glimpse into the home of the world-renowned pop star’s early life.

The charming brick-face home offers a spiral staircase reaching up to the small third floor which features an office space.

Beyonce has notoriously paid homage to her Texan roots as she returned to her old neighborhood in 2016 to reminisce on her old stomping grounds and volunteered in the area to help out local families affected by Hurricane Harvey the next year.

Despite having stayed in the Houston property years before achieving fame, the home has become a monumental property in the area as locals reportedly still use it as a stop on the Houston Beyonce tour.

Tour guide Keith Rosden told the Daily Mail that the property is one of two of the most popular stops on the tour, saying: “Going to see that home where she first lived is like going to Bethlehem – the birthplace of their leader.”
