Brisbane’s Lachie Neale has taken a dig at AFL expert commentator David King on Saturday in a social media post to wrap up the year.

Neale had a huge season with the Lions, picking up his second Brownlow Medal and coming agonisingly close to helping his side win the grand final against Collingwood.

In a seemingly innocent social media post, Neale shared a number of photos on Instagram of his friends, family and teammates.

But one image was a screenshot of remarks that King had made during the season saying Neale was the ‘284th ranked midfielder.’

‘He’s absolutely right off. His last four weeks, he’s averaged 21 disposals which is 70th in the comp,’ said King.

Neale posted a comment that commentator David King had made about him during the season

‘He’s had 18 score involvements, which is 123rd in the comp.

‘He’s winning clearances, he’s won 30 clearances but nothing’s coming off them. There’s no damage, there’s no breakaway anymore.

‘Over the last four weeks, on the 100x rater – which just compares him per 100 minutes averaged out – he is the 284th ranked midfielder.’

Neale clearly had not forgotten the brutal comments from King, and produced a spectacular second half of the season for Brisbane.

His followers were amused by the post and took to the comment section to let him know.

‘You are probably 283rd come on mate,’ wrote golf star Min Woo Lee.

‘That receipt on the last slide! Love it bruss,’ replied another.

‘284, pick up your Brownlow game would ya!’ joked a third.

The Lions co-captain was left stunned after his second Brownlow win in four seasons.

‘It doesn’t sit very well at the moment,’ he said after the voting wrapped up.

‘I’m sure it will sink in at a later date. I’m pretty rattled, to be honest, so apologies if this doesn’t go too well.

‘I did not expect this, and to be amongst some of those names that have won two is unbelievable.’
