Garden weeds are a pest and can compete with your flowers and most-loved plants for nutrients and daylight.
Weeds don’t just look unpleasant. In fact, some weeds secrete chemicals that can inhibit the growth of nearby plants.
With this in mind, gardeners on Facebook have shared their homemade solution for removing weeds from gardens.
Facebook user Shirley Boyle posted on the page, Mrs Hinch Gardening Tips: “OMG I have just sprayed my weeds on my patio with a vinegar, salt and washing up liquid solution and within an hour they were dying.
“Don’t ask what the ratio was because I don’t measure anything but it obviously works. Delighted.”

The post was inundated with responses from fans of Mrs Hinch – whose full name is Sophie Hinchliffe – who claimed the hack “worked a treat”.
Jackie Hinge said: “I did this last year, wanting to avoid chemicals and it worked a treat.
“Like you, no measuring just put it all in an old spray bottle.”
Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans included using just salt and white vinegar.
Katrina Johnson said: “Well done. I just use salt. Works well every year.”
Michelle Turner commented: “I use cheap table salt and it works.”
Mary McClure Whelan replied: “I used undiluted vinegar on the weeds that were popping up through my monoblock and it did the trick… They’ve not returned.”
