FIU football unveils ‘incredible’ special edition ‘Miami Vice’ inspired jerseys paying homage to their hometown

Florida International University is showing love to the city they hail from with some ‘Miami Vice’ inspired jerseys.
The team – nicknamed the Golden Panthers – released a hype video on Wednesday evening teasing the sleek looking uniforms.
In keeping with the traditional ‘Vice’ colors, baby blue and light pink accents are seen all over the pants, socks, jersey, and helmet of the ensemble – all with a black base color below it.
One of the more unique details is the inclusion of the Miami area code ‘305’ written on the helmet in hot pink and with that same light blue border.
Additionally, that ‘0’ in the middle of the area code has been swapped for a blue panther’s head.

Fans on Twitter were quick to praise the combination with some calling it ‘incredible’
Sports fans all over Twitter loved the reveal, calling the uniforms ‘incredible’ and receiving plenty of acclaim.
Even former NFL quarterback Michael Vick – who now works as a FOX Sports commentator – said, ‘This drop DEFINITELY did not let down!!! 2023 season is upon y’al! [sic] Time to make it happen!’
These uniforms seem to be used for a special game in their upcoming calendar – a Wednesday night matchup against UTEP on October 11.
That game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 – in a game FIU hopes will be some revenge for a 40-6 beatdown at the hands of the Miners last year.
Last season, the Golden Panthers went 4-8 under first-year head coach Mike MacIntyre.
He had taken over from former Cleveland Browns head coach Butch Davis – who went 24-32 over five seasons.
