Queen Letizia’s journalism clothing before her marriage to King Felipe was dominated by no-nonsense, boxy two-piece suits, which were later replaced by a more vibrant, feminine look.
She quickly became known for her fitted sheath dresses, sky-high court shoes, eye-catching jewellery, and even casual attire like billowing shirts and the occasional pair of jeans.
Letizia’s naturally light brown hair underwent subtle blonde highlights, and in 2015, she did not hesitate to cut her hair into a fashionable bob.

As a result of this, Queen Letizia’s appearance has undoubtedly changed. Subsequently, the original waxwork representation of Letizia at the Museo de Cera, which had been put in place just before she married the then-Prince of Asturias, was changed to match her new physical appearance.
However, to once more mark the Queen’s “physical changes,” the waxwork was redone and exhibited in 2017.
Gonzalo Presa, the museum’s communication director, told Ruptly TV at the time: “This museum is made to remember the characters that have been, and that are part of the history of Spain.
“There will be people who like it a lot, and there will be people who do not like it, or do not like it at all.
“The physical changes and the passage of time, but above all the physical changes which the monarch has gone through have forced us to remake its physical image.
“We believe that this is the best of all, and it is also in our opinion, the one that best reflects the majesty that the character of Letizia is supposed to have as Queen of Spain.”
Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, whose father Jesús José Ortiz Álvarez and stepmother Ana Togores are both journalists, had a successful career in TV and newspapers before she met the heir to the Spanish throne.
She had previously worked in Mexico and was employed by the well-known TV network 24 Horas, where she anchored the well-liked Telediario 2 nightly newscast.
Letizia previously married writer Alonso Guerrero Pérez, but the marriage ended in divorce after only one year.
She now has two children – Leonor, Princess of Asturias, 17, and Infanta Sofia, 16, whom she shares with King Felipe of Spain.
