Floyd Mayweather hints at rematch with ​​John Gotti III… despite 46-year old's first fight with grandson of mafia crime boss ending in mass brawl

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has hinted at the possibility of a rematch with John Gotti III before the end of this year.

During a recent interview with Fighthype.com Mayweather revealed: ‘From what I’m told, we spoke. My team has spoken to his team and before the end of the year I think we’re going to make it happen.’

Back in June Mayweather, now 46, and Gotti – the grandson of former New York crime boss John Gotti – met in an exhibition fight.

The bout ended in a mass brawl when people stormed the ring following a controversial decision.

Referee Kenny Bayliss stopped the bout in round six, prompting Gotti to force his way past the official and continue throwing punches at Mayweather.

Following the stoppage of the last fight between the pair a massive brawl broke out 

Mayweather also hinted at a possible exhibition fight with Jean Pascal, a 40-year-old former world champion at light heavyweight. 

‘They’ve been talking about another fight also,’ Mayweather said. ‘Another exhibition with a guy that’s in Canada… That name (Pascal) was brought up but I told them the numbers weren’t right.’

During the brawl that followed his exhibition against Gotti, Mayweather initially blocked the extra punches and threw some fists back at his opponent, appearing to catch Gotti III on the top of the head with a left hook that forced him back across the ring.

At this point, members of both teams climbed into the ring and a mass brawl occurred.

The brawl started when Gotti charged past the referee and continued throwing punches 

Mayweather then went and sat atop the ropes to take in the scene as close to 50 people pushed and shoved their way around. 

The fighting was not just restricted to the ring either, with a number of scraps breaking out around the arena.

Following the brawl Gotti would go on to continue taking shots at Mayweather. He took to Instagram to post ‘Punk b***h @Floyd Mayweather. You my enemy for life.’

Gotti was also hit with a six-month suspension from the DBPR Florida Athletic Commission for starting the chaotic brawl
