Emmerdale villain to return as fans 'work out' who pushed Rishi Sharma to his death

Emmerdale has been rocked by another death and during Friday’s ITV episode, the villagers struggled to mourn the loss of Rishi Sharma (played by Bhasker Patel).

Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) was filled with regret as he didn’t get a chance to make amends with Rishi before he died.

The duo had a huge argument and Rishi didn’t make it to Jai and Laurel Thomas’ (Charlotte Bellamy) wedding.

However, the following day, Jai discovered his dad’s lifeless body at the bottom of the stairs.

Jai refused to leave Rishi’s side despite newcomer Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) insisting they call the police.

“What happened?” Suni asked as an emotional Jai replied: “I found him here, he must have been there all night.

“Why don’t you just go and wait in the kitchen or outside for a bit, he is here because this is it, you see, this is all I have left of him,” Jai sobbed.

Following the emotional episode, fans took to social media in droves to share their thoughts on what might happen next.

Some believe Rishi’s brother secretly arrived in the village to push him down the stairs.

Taking to a Facebook fan group, one viewer shared: “I can’t help but think this but would this now explain why Rishi in Emmerdale kept it to himself for all that time because it is his own brother that is Jai a biological Dad.

“If it had been anyone else would Rishi have said anything by now because it must hurt Rishi that it is his own brother that Jai is biological Dad.” (sic)

Other fans were quick to share their thoughts, with another asking: “Was Rishi pushed?”

While some pointed out Rishi had troubles with his heart, one eagle-eyed fan suggested: “I am wondering if his brother could have murdered Rishi.”

They later said when questioned on the theory: “He could have just arrived and we haven’t seen him yet.” (sic)

Some viewers also took to Twitter to share their suggestions, with others predicting the return of Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu).

@maitra_sulagna joked: “So, Meena escaped from prison…”

Another went on: “Meena pushed Rishi down the stairs…then she will kill the vicar’s folks.”

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
