Gemma Atkinson has shared a picture of her newborn son on social media and revealed the heartwarming reason behind his name.
The 38-year-old and her fiancé Gorka Marquez, 32, welcomed their second child into the world earlier this week revealing that he “arrived safe and sound” via the former’s Instagram stories.
In a further update, Gemma has revealed the name of the tot as well as the heartwarming reason behind it.
Sharing a text-based post with her 1.9 million Instagram followers, the former Strictly contestant wrote: “Thiago Thomas. Thiago is originally a Portuguese name (Gorkas mum is from Portugal)”.
She also revealed that ‘Thomas’ was a tribute to her late father, who died when the star was just 17.

Gemma signed off the message to her fans by writing: “Thank you everyone for the lovely messages. We feel extremely lucky.”
As well as the insight into her newborn baby’s name, the mum-of-two has posted the first photograph of Thiago to her feed.
In the snap, her son was wearing a dark blue baby-grow and was swaddled in a white and black spotty blanket.
In the caption she wrote: “Thiago Thomas Marquez. Our family is complete.”
Fans and famous faces alike have congratulated the mum and have showered well wishes on herself and her brood.
Presenter Janette Manrara wrote: “Look at him! CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!”
Helen Skelton took to the post and simply commented: “Perfection x.”
32-year-old Oti Mabuse also took to the comments section and said that Gemma’s son was, “Beautiful”.
The update comes just days after the former Emmerdale star revealed that she had given birth for the second time.
Again taking to her stories to deliver the good news, she wrote: “Little man is here! He arrived safe and sound and he’s utterly wonderful.
“We’re all home together soaking up this lovely little bubble before Gorks has to leave for Strictly rehearsals next week.”
She added: “Thank you for all the lovely well wishes. Our family is complete.”
