A fan appeared to fall over a railing behind the left-center field fence and onto the warning track Sunday during the bottom of the fifth inning at Citi Field.
Security immediately began racing toward the unexpected visitor, but the unidentified man put his hands in the air as if to surrender and indicate that he meant the players no harm.
He also held what looked like a bloody cloth to his nose, suggesting an injury.

The first security staffer to reach the fan put his hand on the man’s back and waved to others that assistance wasn’t needed apprehending a trespasser.
Three pieces of litter were left behind on the track where the fan first appeared and he was escorted through an opening in the fence and out of view.
Karl Ravech and Eduardo Perez speculated on ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” that the fan fell.
The fall from the front row to the field at that spot is about 12 feet.
“That’s no joke there,” David Cone said on the broadcast. “I hope he’s OK.”
The game was briefly stopped with Mets leading 5-1 and catcher Francisco Alvarez at the plate.
