The wave of violence sparked on Tuesday in France following the death of 17-year-old Nahel has spread to Belgium’s capital city, Brussels.
At least 10 people were also arrested in two Brussels neighbourhoods in the wake of protests and scuffles with officers that police blamed on the shooting.
Police spokeswoman Ilse Van de Keere said several fires were brought under control, and that at least one car was burned.
